The Bishop – Vacant
The Right Reverend Donald Kirk - retired 27th August 2026

Donald Kingsley Kirk was Consecrated and Installed as the Eleventh Bishop of Riverina on a glorious winter morning on Saturday 15th June at the Cathedral Church of St Alban the Martyr in Griffith. On Thursday, 27th August 2026, the Bishop Laid Up his Pastoral Staff, marking the end of seven years in Diocesan Leadership.

The Diocese of Riverina is grateful for his time here, and wish Bishop Donald and his wife a wonderful new chapter as they retire to Queensland.

The Registrar – Mrs Mandy Walsh

Mrs Mandy Walsh was appointed Registrar / Business Manager of the Diocese of Riverina and began in July 2022. 

The Dean – The Very Reverend Thomas Leslie

Fr Thomas was Installed as Dean of St Alban’s Cathedral and Rector of Griffith on 5th February 2021 by Bishop Donald. Fr Thomas was Made Deacon and Ordained Priest in the Diocese of Wangaratta where he served in ministry at Holy Trinity Cathedral and in the Parishes of Yea and Beechworth. In 2019 he was Installed as a Canon of Holy Trinity Cathedral. His strengths are in liturgy and pastoral ministry.

The Administrator and Archdeacon – The Venerable Robert Murphy

Fr Robert Murphy was Collated as Diocesan Archdeacon and Appointed as Vicar General on 14th December 2022 by Bishop Donald Kirk, and on
28th August 2026, became Administrator for the Diocese of Riverina. Fr Robert will hold the position of Administrator until a new Bishop is installed.

Fr Robert was made Deacon and Ordained Priest in this Diocese and has served all his years of ministry within the Diocese, in the Parishes of Griffith, Corowa, Coleambally / Darlington Point, and Leeton. He has a deep knowledge of the Diocese, its people and history, and has excellent administrative skills.
